I have to admit at the outset that I started reading this book until after I saw the show (or the first series), which got me totally. However, I will try it too much not to compare the series because the book was přecejen before the show:-)
So … not the best book in the world it is not, but a complete waste of time either. The story begins (as in the series) by introducing the main characters at the time in prison and the guards would come for her, take her to the module it is transported to Earth, along with other 99 teenagers.
Flashbacks yes or no?
I really didn’t like the flashbacks, which were in each chapter. Each chapter was told by another character, which was not so bad. However, these glimpses into the past, its justification, but I always just flew eyes. The story basically tells four figures: Clark, Bellamy, Wells, and Glass. The latter is still on the Ark (she managed to escape after he Bellamy won a place on the module Firing Earth) and brings us to a situation that leads to the end Archy and probable death of all who fail to reach the rescue modules that there left. While in space faced with a lack of air and the lack of places to rescue modules on Earth it is not much easier.
Although they are in no danger as far as radioactivity, there are other threats. Someone establish a fire in their makeshift camp and have burned their entire inventory and also kidnaps Bellamy sister OKTAVIA.
In the first part is essentially devoted to how the 100 teenagers get to Earth and find that they are not alone. They think that they risk not only of nature (poisonous plants and animals) but also from people who never left Earth.
But it is quite fun to see how promoting their personality and knowledge. How they adjusting to new environment and new circumstances. Anyway, if you’ve already seen the tv show, you’ll probably have trouble reading this book. However, I did not come up as bad as some reviews said.
This is book #1.
In the future, humans live in city-like spaceships orbiting far above Earth’s toxic atmosphere. No one knows when, or even if, the long-abandoned planet will be habitable again. But faced with dwindling resources and a growing populace, government leaders know they must reclaim their homeland… before it’s too late.
Now, one hundred juvenile delinquents are being sent on a high-stakes mission to recolonize Earth. After a brutal crash landing, the teens arrive on a savagely beautiful planet they’ve only seen from space. Confronting the dangers of this rugged new world, they struggle to form a tentative community. But they’re haunted by their past and uncertain about the future. To survive, they must learn to trust – and even love – again.
