Review – Crescendo

I found this book better written than the first one, but how I mentioned in the first review, it might be just that translation. Of course, some sentences were too simple and they were missing some deepness, but it was OK.

What really disturbed me was the fact, that some information was different than in the first book. But worst was Nora’s foolishness I guess. She was looking for problems where there were no problems at all and she was arguing with Patch for no reason which left mark on their relationship. At one point it seemed that Nora knows, what she wants and how to get it and then she did something totally different.

The most surprising part was when Nora accused Patch from killing her father and he didn’t say a word and then, when she finds out who really killed him, she didn’t apologize to Patch and both of them acts like it never happened. I think, that they could explain it at least with one sentence, but what… Nora is Nora. Sometimes I was pretty mad at her but I liked the story. I like the whole series. But I’m still wondering how a movie would look like 🙂

Description

The author of this book and whole Hush, Hush series is Becca Fitzpatrick.
This is book #2. Previous review can be found here.

Nora Grey’s life is still far from perfect. Surviving an attempt on her life wasn’t pleasant, but at least she got a guardian angel out of it. A mysterious, magnetic, gorgeous guardian angel. But despite his role in her life, Patch has been acting anything but angelic. He’s more elusive than ever (if that’s possible) and what’s worse, he seems to be spending time with Nora’s archenemy, Marcie Millar.

Nora would have hardly noticed Scott Parnell, an old family friend who has moved back to town, if Patch hadn’t been acting so distant. Even with Scott’s totally infuriating attitude, Nora finds herself drawn to him – despite her lingering feelings that he is hiding something.

If that weren’t enough, Nora is haunted by images of her murdered father, and comes to question whether her Nephilim bloodline has anything to do with his death. Desperate to figure out what happened, she puts herself in increasingly dangerous situations to get the answer. But maybe some things are better left buried, because the truth could destroy everything – and everyone – she trusts.
